I think it would have worked out A LOT better if they had lv 50 the max and just evened out the level for all the quests and maybe made the xp required a little higher for each level so there wouldn't be such huge gaps were there wasn't any quests to do, and just increase the level cap when needed or when they had more quests to give out.
Shrug who knows to have same level cap as wow after expansion? Random number? Who knows...give themselves time to get crap working without thinking that there will always be a loser who maxes out some way or another in less then a week.
Well perhaps do to feat points? More lvls taking less time to lvl means you spend feat points more often.
This leads to a greater feeling of control over you character. This leads to feel less like a number and more like a player that matters in some small way.
To be honest I am hoping id does not take to long before they add some more lvls or some sort of alternate advancement type of system. I for one dislike the feeling of max lvl knowing their is no more character growth. Just gear.
Not that I don't like end game. But it can get old quick without some small way to still grow your toon.
This is only my view on it though. Take it with a grain of salt.
My guess it is to do with the way feats are structured and the maths behind the game, levels are just a way of breaking the maths behind your character into a digestible format for humans to comprehend.
