Also, I take these things with a grain of salt. I think the benefits of being in an mmo at launch outweigh the negatives. You usually end up with cheaper/free loot that no one else has, sometimes you'll get that little exploit that makes your life a little easier to a moment (infinite stam pot anyone?) and you have the edge on leveling/in-game knowledge over those who start later.[/QUOTE]
Hehe yeah those pots were great that never ran out. I agree with you totally.

You make a number of well thought out points, but that doesn't change one simple fact. (Before continuing I should mention that I have already purchased an additional three months of AoC.)
Consumers are choosing TODAY, right now, which game to purchase. The state that WoW was in "back then" is completely irrelevant. AoC entered a market competing with WoW in its current form, not its launch form, and should have been prepared to face that standard of stability, balance, and gameplay. Today, AoC is not at that standard. Now I'll grant you, it isn't "fair" that WoW was released at a time when that bar was lower, but that changes nothing about AoC's current situation.
Those who continue to play AoC will see improvements, and if AoC can maintain its base of support and improve through the holiday season, it may well survive. However, attempting to help AoC maintain that support through arguments that cite data such as WoW's previous state serve no purpose unless they are framed in such a way as to imply the improvement that AoC will see in the future. But honestly, I don't think the "someday AoC will be like WoW" argument really does the game any favors.
If you want to mention WoW in your review or defense of AoC, forget the past. It's over; no one cares. What matters is the present. Highlight AoC's differences from WoW right now: ie. mature content, the combat system, low fantasy lore, etc. The old WoW stuff though, that's wasted text.

Was serious though -- used to be MMO's were more adults anyway -- WoW made it so easy all ages can play and be decent. Heck my eleven year old son had a 70 hunter a S2 for goodness sake.

my 5 year old son had full tier6 and he was the main tank.

That was not made up at all. He played on Chromaggus and his name was Lanx. He also had a level 65 Orc Rogue on Azgalor named Ugruka. Look up the armory. All he did was PvP when he was allowed to play. He was revered in WSG before TBC even came out.
Don't assume people are not telling the truth because it literates how easy a game is that is played. You know what is said when people ass ume.......

Why is this a new thread? Why not post your reponse to another thread IN THAT thread?
And yeah, clearly negative threads are cluttering the forums, not every ****smack who thinks their post on an entirely different forum deserves its own thread instead of being posted in the thread dealing with the topic.
You are not important. You are not special. Stop seeking attention on a forum.

No one is seeking attention Troll -- I was posting a response which had points in it -- mainly about MMO popularity and computer availability that were not addresed and lost in the crazy 22 page posts of ragers.
Mine was not a rage -- and it was different as it brought up some points that had not been addressed before.
Troll elsewhere or make a genuine contribution to this thread. It's trolls like you that can turn a thread of 20 relevent responses into 20 pages of crap to read through everyone gives up on.
Move along

I think he was a little butt hurt that his accomplishments in an absurdly easy game did not equall that of an 11 year old.

I do agree with you there. I think AoC - or any MMO for that matter should be graded on it's own and not compared to others. And that it ends up ultimately to be an indiviual choice.
I was only comparing because that it basically what the author of the article was doing -- comparing 3 weeks into AoC with WoW after 4 years forgetting WoW's beginning and past problems the 1st year.
