Lightbulb 1-time complete customization change after completing The End Battle...

In addition to the ability to redo hair as many times as you wish (suggested elsewhere), I'd like to propose a second chance to get your favorite character to look/sound just like you want once you've put up with the initial hazing that is Tortage.

While all of my characters look right, I apparently flubbed the voice on one of them. This is an extremely minor thing, but it's like that annoying mosquito you hear while trying to sleep but can never seem to find.

I'm sure others who start off with a character in mind end up with a character going in another direction RP-wise wouldn't mind such a feature. Since you can do it once, it shouldn't be too difficult to allow it twice. ("Shouldn't be" and "isn't" aren't always in agreement.) Of course you can't change class which means you can't change race. I see no problem with changing gender, but I'm not partial to changing the name for the same reason as stated next.

The reason for the one extra chance at your character appearance instead of as many times as you would like is I see this as a way of trying to confuse others of who you really are if abused. Surely once your character is set after playing for a while (hence the restriction of changing only after The End Battle), you wouldn't need to do it again. No?

As I mentioned, this is not to replace the suggestion of redoing hairstyles as often as you want (or as often as your character can afford).

Despite my aversion to the name change, I'd go with popular opinion on it. I'm neither for nor against an in-game price tag to making the one-extra-time change proposed here.

What do you think? Viable? Worth it? Just re-roll (and possibly end up with yet another character going in still another direction)?

(Holy crap! I can write long posts!)

I agree with it. I've often had to recreate my characters multiple times after the Tortage beach because of discrepancies between the boat and the beach

Rather then a one time thing, Id love to see what CoH has where you can adjust your character appearance/voice at any time... it just costs.

ICON, the CoH costume shop, wasn't available at launch and was added in one of the content updates. LotRO was much the same way, and just recently added "barber shops" to allow you to update your physical appeance. So keep your fingers crossed!

EQ2 has a 'Barber' shop (has for quite a while), the cost was 1 gold (equiv of around 10 silver in AoC what with the largest coin being Plat in EQ2).

It's a basic concept of customization these days, I'm sure we'll see it at some point, and not terribly far away. Just likely other things to deal with first.

Very doubtful they would limit it to just hair and other basic things, much more likely that it would just be a complete 100% recustomization with every last aspect intact. Not only would it satisfy the most people, but also be easier to insert.

Well, there are 2 ways to do it:

Limited - Limit to what makes 'sense' in the world - hair and details.(like scars, jewellrys, tattoos) This is how Lotro did it, and they admitted while they didn't like people removing scars, it was the only way they could do it. They ALSO allowed people to implement TWO details instead of one.

Example, would be having a scar AND a tattoo on your face. Or one of each on your body. That would be worth paying a little extra silver for

Full - EQ2. Pay a gold, log out, completely redo everything except gender, race and class.

Personally, I'd like something in the middle. And the option to change voices >.<
