1. New Jersey, USA

2. Embarq DSL (Sprint)

3. Doomsayer

4. Anything and everything, the "spike" is at all times when I log in, I never get below 100ms and usually hover around 1K. Since whoever is hosting the AoC servers has disabled IP echoing I can not run an appropriate trace rout to find the problem.

5. Happens almost all the time during "Prime time" 5pm EST - 10pm EST, SOMETIMES get decent ping in the early mornings usually before your 6am EST downtime.

6. Forever....

7. AMD 3500+ 2.21ghz, 2gig Dual DDR, 8800GT OC 512meg, game and system installed on a 74gig 10K rpm Raptor HD.

Any help would be apreciated, if you could at least PM me the contact information for the hosting company hosting the AoC servers in Jersery I could request them to do a reverse tracert to my network or to allow IP/Echo temporarily.

well whatever they did the issue is not there on my computer anymore. Got to play for a good hour tonight before i had to log off for work. I still think they need to talk about this problem and fix it for those who are having it and i will still be vocal about that.

Changing instances while in Tortage (Day) helped me with the latency. But while playing in Tortage (Night) I got stuck in 10K latency and since there are no instances to change to, I just died and logged off.

I played for 5 hours today in the Omm server. Everytime I got hit by a latency spike that stayed for more than 3 minutes I just changed instances and that helped. I kept doing this until I found an instance where my latence went back to normal (100-170ms) for me.

I am guessing its a bandwidth problem. I am just not sure what else to think.

If it was a software (client side) problem, then how can you explain that, on the same machine, same version software, no changes at all other than switching ISP's (route to server) fixes the issue for me?

To me it sounds like a server side issue still, since I don't have the issue when I simply change a single username field on my router...
