As mentioned in previous letters, we will most likely keep to instanced PVP content for the moment. However, on a personal level, I'd love to revisit that design at some stage, but there are some serious limitations that ending up scuppering the intention the team had with the Shrines, and we would need some of those addressed before we re-examined that.

9. Not sure what you mean there. That's not any system we have talked about before .. so obviously no plans there, but I'm not sure what you mean.

10. As we have mentioned we will most likely reconsider the world bosses in some form, depending on the discussion on a faction system as mentioned in one of your previous points.


Not a problem to confirm those statuses and estimates again. The plans haven't changed any over the last few months as we are hard at work on the current updates and the adventure pack. The bulk of our focus for PVP has been on the systems side of things, with some of them, as with the multiple specs, and the sprint changes, being major changes. Of course we need to make sure there is new content in the pipeline too, and that is the case too, with the new map in the works to come alongside the adventure pack.

Can AoC have any PvP content before the 11th aniversary?? (dont you dare call Shrines of BoriNG pvp!). You just gave us SAG and nothing more!!!!!!!!

We want incentives for pvp. Prizes for acomplishing pvp tasks as: flag caps, flag defense, tottem damage, tottem defense, healing done, saviour kills, avenger kills, fatalities, kill assists, CC flag carriers, and etc, etc. Any other KPI you may find on it. Give xp and tokens for that.

Now we just have killing or mini wins, nothing more. Just take a look at battlefield, call of duty and others, and all the pins, medals or ribbons ppl can get. That can drive teamplay.

You have an amazing world already done. You can just cut some new mini maps from that and even renew they very constantly. No need to be all symmetric. Better give us a new cut each month tham 1 symmetric map each 4 years.

I saw in a EU post you still think about "PvP Bosses". Didnt you learn anything with the Shrines of BoriNG fail??? Hit rocks or bosses is PvE, since either one are part of the enviroment. This game needs real pvp. With this amazing combat system, the huge disdain you have for pvp is both a shame and a lost of opportunity

You guys are always complaining about no PvP content. What kind of content can exist in PvP exactly? All PvP is is fighting and killing other players, that exists in the game already, heck they made a hardcore "PvP" server strictly a result from all the "whah, we are neglected in pvp" complaints. They added in a new 24 man mini. In the end what does it matter, the PvP content exists, just kill each other and shut up already. PvP content exists it has been in game since day one, stop qq'ing on the forums and kill eachother till your heart's content.

When everything is said and done, all PvP is at the end of the day, is players fighting and killing one another, as opposed to fighting the AI.

fanboy detected, and one that know nothing about pvp. Go play some battlefield and you will see what pvp content means

There can be plenty of content in PvP. You're talking world-objectives (take and hold Y village for your guild to get X bonus, much like the tower-fields in AO), you're talking arenas where you can host tournaments for 1vs1, 2vs2, 4vs4 etc (with, of course, betting on teams, spectator-stands etc), you've got things such as faction-based PvP (Join a faction, fight for control of X object in Y zone, for example the rooftops of the different districts of OT/Khemi). There's a whole horde of things that would make PvP MEAN something. As it is now it's just mindless slaughter, and, while fun, there's no point behind it, no meaning to it and thus it gets very boring very fast.

Also take into effect the glaring differences in power when you compare a player at PvP-level 10 with a PvP 1 (or PvP 5, for that matter), and you see something needs to be done.

Those that actually engage in PvP can probably write books about what's wrong with PvP, but those are at least things I personally think would make PvP interesting. Sure, keep the Open-world PvP as well, but for the love of whatever gods may be out there, expand on it to tempt more people, especially us poor sods from the PvE-servers to engage in it!.

Yes, PvP is just that: Player vs player. But it needs purpose. When you have something to fight for and over, **** becomes a damn lot more interesting than mere kill/death-ratios. And no, I for one don't count minigames as PvP-content. It's a cheap, half-assed solution that doesn't bring anything really new to the table.

Ok, lets turn this around into a perspective you might comprehend.

Take all pve content away and let pvers run around killing mobs until they turn blue.

Now your pvp counterparts recieve an entire tier upgrade of new minigames, new repeatable quests, greater rewards, arena maps, pvp zones filled with objectives, meanwhile the pvers recieve a tweek here or there on who's handling mobs easier than others.

After years of this the pver continues to lament his starvation for something other than killing mobs but the pvper looks mockingly down on them and tell them to shutup and kill more mobs.

Probably the best description of the situation for PvP'ers there has ever been here on the boards, pretty much.

Great suggestions and much more constructive then simply..."there's no pvp content".
