Is this a troll post? All 3 of the classes that you named not only have TWO HANDED range, but a multitude of AOE combos.
DTs only have dooming presence for an AOE combo and a short stubby sword for which they must over compensate....

There is a difference in range between a 2 hander and a 1 hander in AoC? I didn't know that. Because I'm telling you I'm right up to someone, hitting my combos, and they are just not registering. The arrow turns red, as if I'm swinging at air. Do you have any tips on how I can improve on this? Because I want to PVP on my DT, but man I can't land anything.

ahem excuse me. i played a barb, i don't remember these aoe combos (although 2 would proc aoe damage), i also had to work with 1 hander range. oh wait, everyone plays zerker because they're noobs. eww there's still brute conqs around? they made carnage easy, since break through, any baddie could do ok with it.
deathsader, 2he range is 5m i think, and 1he range is 3m, get used to it if you want to play a dt. unless you want to what pros like torukina do - run in, dooming presence, run out, hide or run flags till cd is up.

Dang see that's pretty wild about the difference in range between the 2 weapon types. I want to pull off my combos on people, because when I am fighting someone who isn't that great at moving around, I can REALLY tear through them very quickly. Well now that I know that I have to be in punching distance from a player it'll make it a bit easier to try and remember. I just am so used to my eyes tricking me into thinking I'm in range, because when I'm using a 2 hander I am in fact in range when I do my combos lol Thanks for the info.

PvP problems with Dark Templar
The DT combat range is 3m but some auras is 5m or a little more, to be efective in PvP with your DT need your AAs (all the Resistances and protections minimun in 3 points each one, and Void of madness).
In a fight you need to be closely together of the enemy and exactly opposite to.
The damage of the one hand sword or one hand mace is very low that the reasson you need to stun the enemy and hit twice and spell seal of chaos or dark burden and then use your fear skill (dooming presence)you need to know all your skills and desing your pvp strategy.
You need to decide if you want to be a tank (depravity tree), of tank (hybrid) or a DPS (desecration tree).
i hope this help you
p.d. sorry for my bad english

Brutes still exist because of the two trees it scales better with gear and aas. Weapon damage is the only thing that buffs bleeds, offhands don't crit and I swear off hand uses a different Hit rating than main hand.

I have tested this out, and have found a fix to the range issue. When your in a combat stance of any kind, your left foot sticks out. As long as the left foot is touching the yellow circle of your target that you're facing, you will ALWAYS land your combo, even if it is touching the very edge of the yellow circle. I figure I'd at least post this in case anyone else was curious how to gauge the melee range of one handed weapons.
