Hmm, can't say that I agree on that notion. I believe Age of Conan forums is...or at least should be the the central place for reference material. There are enough threads for debate and discussions to fill that need here. "This is coming from my perspective of AoC being my first on-line game and not even know what a Wiki was till a year later. For new gamers, one generally thinks that the host is the primary data source IMO." But hey, good work on any updating whether first party or 3rd party sites. Accurate data being the real key here thanks to all for helping.

The crux of the issue is this, though. Say you're having trouble with a particular quest and want some hints as to how to navigate it - a common enough experience with new players.
Say you come to the forums with this issue. Since vBulletin search is all but useless, you have to post a new query, have to wend your way through the trolls and doorknobs who will inevitably reply to complain about how Funcom is ruining everything and call you a noob who should LTP, on the off chance that somebody posts the info you were looking for.
Or you can go to the wiki, type the name of the quest in the search box, and poof... info on the quest. Certainly, this is predicated on having accurate info on the wiki, but it's how, say, WoW or EQ2 players get info, because those games have excellent wikis. But that's the whole point to the initiative. Most people are familiar with wikis nowadays thanks to Wikipedia, and if you weren't, I'm prepared to call you an outlier.
To be sure, the ideal scenario would be an official wiki, much like Turbine does with the LotRO lorebook. In either case, though, it's the community that maintains it.

Call away brother if what you meant was an all out lier. You are in charge of your own judgments.
However, a valid point indeed. I see that V.Bulletin isn't really designed for data mining searches. And the BS is stifling to be sure. You have won me over to the notion that Wikis' are far more capable for info.
I may be mistaken but, don't you have to download key loggers to update some of the Wikis? I say, Yellow Gremlin AoC for an example.
And to lighten your load, maybe not this post but in previous for sure, AoC is my first on-line game ever though since launch. Might near my fist PC video game besides Cabela Big Game Hunter. So anyone who knows me know I'm honest if anything. Take a look at my Signature Brother!

All you need to edit the wiki is a web browser, you can register an account but it's not necessary.

Can you direct me to which pages are in most need of wiki pages?
I'd love to contribute to this myself. Although I am not familiar with exactly how wikis work, this is a great chance to learn and pour more into the game.
I am a crafter so I have a lot of crafting knowledge. I also have the advantage of dual boxing, so I can play Age of Conan to get the exact details on one computer and type details in the wiki on the other!

Offhand, the areas I would like to see the most work done on relate to basic game knowledge and information. This includes the pages of class abilities/spells/combos, which are suspect at best, and often blank. I've uploaded combo arrow graphics to use for descriptions.
The crafting info on the wiki is also lacking; it's difficult to impossible to figure out how crafting works from the wiki. This needs to be fleshed out, and recipe pages created. Harvesting also needs some work; the list of harvestable resources needs to be checked for accuracy, pages need to be added for each resource, with a list of where those resources can be harvested.
That's just offhand. As a measure of our progress, we've added a few hundred pages to the wiki and improved a lot more. The AoC wiki now contains 6,522 articles. For the record, the EQ2 wiki contains 56,468; WoWwiki has 90,847; HammerWiki (for WAR) has 6,249, so one of my minor goals is to surpass that soon.

I would think, that as a new player looking for some insight on questing, the [QUESTS] tab needs the most love - the Tortage 5-20 Quests are empty - GET TO WORK SLACKER

This just In: I now have admin rights to the AoC wiki. Already redid the site theme. Anyone else wants admin rights, send me a message over there.
