I issued
a challenge on my blog that I figured I would repeat here. It's gotten a little bit of traction but it's probably more appropriately directed here.
Essentially, here's what it boils down to: the
Age of Conan Wiki sucks. It's also one of the first places to which a new or interested player would turn for information about the game. But it's got a lot of spotty information in it and is in most places
radically out of date; some of the info there is pre-RotGS, some of it is pre-
launch.
The whole point of a wiki is that anybody can contribute to it. The best source of accurate and up-to-date information is the active player base, which can be found in force here. So I'm asking the AoC player community to check out the wiki, update articles, write new ones, post new maps and graphics and whatnot. Basically get it into as good a shape as the EQ2 or WoW wikis. If everyone who reads this forum contributes at least one article, that would go a
long way toward creating a useful resource of prospective players. With (hopefully) big news and a movie based on the property coming in the near future, now's the time.
For anyone wondering, no, I do not run the AoC wiki, nor am I affiliated with anyone who does - they appear to be largely absentee administrators. I'm just an invested party (in the game) and a contributor myself - but my own knowledge is
very spotty at this time, returning as I am after a long absence. So I need your help. Let's work together to make the AoC wiki the resource that the community and the game needs.
EDIT: If anyone on the EU side of the game is reading this, it'd be great if you could repost this there.
UPDATE: The wiki needs more info on Khitai quests. You can update these here if you like, or directly on the wiki. SalmonSeller and entered several examples.
If you can't/don't want to update these yourself just open your quest log and screen shot each part/chapter of the quest(s) and chuck em here:
conanquests@gmail.com
I have found that to be far quicker and easier that typing or copy/pasting the quest info. Oh, and if you could screen shot at each quest ding (i.e. quest update) that would be aces - it'll help complete the quest info and get all the chapters of each quest.
A big thanks to all who have contributed so far. It's coming along quite nicely.
