All of the Miasmas are abilities like Avatar of Death, Dull Pain, Cat's Paw, etc etc. Meaning, you can hit the button mid combo to get the ability and it won't interrupt the combo.

THX, and I am good with that, but if Soul Strike depends on GC being in affect on your opponent, hitting it (Soul Strike) mid-combo causes the ability to take hold then go into affect after GC lands?

That being the case, if so, does the GC affect take hold at all, or just go instantly to the "Grim Corruption + Soul Strike = Massive amount of Unholy Damage

No, you still have to land the GC first. You can land the GC, wind up a Swift strikes then during the finisher while the GC is still ticking you can activate Soul Strike without interrupting the swift strikes finisher.
