So what your saying is that if you slot a lower dps wep with +scything or +fire dmg those things will affect our overrall combo and the actual dps of the weapon means nothing? This is quite interesting... I always choose weapons based on final dps score assuming that those + dmg modifiers are already added to the total dps of the weapon rather than being added on top of it. That really will make a difference in selecting which weapon to use. For instance, a 2he with dps of 130 slotted with say.. 3X +7 scything will actually deal more than 130 dps? Am I getting warm? I hope this is accurate...which of course then will piss me off that the dps shown on the weapon means exactly **** for HoX's.

That is a HUGE increase from what it use to do. I had Spitfire 5/5 a few weeks ago, and it did around 100 a tic for 5 times. If it is really a 2500 damage dot now I will be amazed. Too bad all the specs I'm looking into now only put 1 point into it, may have to do some realigning.

Considering damage is probably double in raids what it is anywhere else, that's probably something you should tell us before you post numbers.

And that's why tier 2 and tier 1 epic weapons have the same dps of any other blue level 80 weapon. It's not the dps of the weapon that makes it uber, its the stats (i.e. - which is why gems are good).

Under my signature, i have posted my new builds as of this patch. These are builds based around having really high +fire Magic. Work pretty well. Its basically a similar build to what i had before, just now btd does more damage and burning words makes for a nice combo with hfb.

Proof that the "low level weapons don't change combo damage" argument is bullshit.

Also proves that at least the +damage from assassin stances affects combo damage. I'd be willing to bet it works the same for +damage gems as well. If you want to convince people otherwise, the burden of proof is on you.

Yay stickied. Since it is, what i'll do tomorrow is post direct combat log stats of each feat and combo with all fire gear, and no fire gear. This will give you all a direct number to work with, and you still wont be too impressed sadly.

I've also almost finished my 2h edge gear. Getting gems myself and guildies sending me them so its taking longer then if i had purchased them from the auction. I simply refuse to pay 10g a gem. Forget that.

Once my 2h set is done, over the coming week, i'll do the same and post exact figures showing every feat and combo with full gear, then without.

This will put any debates to rest with concrete math. ^^
