Extra stats would be good but would make the crafted stuff totally obsolete, some of the matts required are already fairly steep.
As it is they're a good alternative, depending on what you want. The item budgets seem to be about the same as a gemmed crows crafted, for example the caster necklace has slightly less raw damage but higher crit damage then the gemmed blue.

Also the Xib rings are unique, you can only have 1 of each. Unless they've put in 2 rings for each role, you'll probably end up having 1 crafted one anyway.

If that's the case the crafted rings should be purple too then.

As for only being able to have one ring, did you notice the left finger/right finger listings on the auction house? I'm guessing all rings will be designated to one finger or the other sometime soon....
