Lightbulb Guide for Newcomers.

I've decide to put together a guide, since we have a few more hours of downtime, and Release is coming soon.Depending on the interest I might update this in the days to come. I'm going to focus more on the list of things that it took me a while to figure out, and how I solved them. Feel free to reply with better solutions, or more clear descriptions of how to go about things and I will update this guide. Thanks!

1. Grouping and Friends
- To add someone to your friends list, use the command /cc addbuddy NAME. You can also add people to whom you recently sent a tell (/tell name) by going to the friends window and right clicking their name, which should be there in italics.

- You can invite people to a group with /invite NAME or through the friends list ui. It is possible that you can be in the same zone as your groupmates/friends but in a different instance. There is an downward arrow by the minimap, next to the (DAY) or (NIGHT) box that will allow you to switch instances to get to the same one as your friends. Once you get to the same instance once, any instances you join while grouped will be the same as your group mates. (Note: I have yet to figure out how to know which instance my character is in at any given time)

2. Skills and Feats
You have both a skill tree, and a feat tree.
- The skill tree allows you to put points into things like climbing, hiding (stealth), endurance (how far you can run), etc. You seem to gain points in this even without leveling, with about 30 points total per level. Classes with stealth abilities need to put points into Hiding before they can use stealth. Some quests require you to "climb" which requires points in climbing. You climb by using the 'U' key near a climbing spot (ladders, certain walls, etc).
-Alt+Right-clicking on a specific skill will allow you to reset them, but costs a few tin to do (likely more at higher levels).

- Feat trees are like talent trees in Some Other Game (SOG for short). You start getting them at Level 10 and gain one each level. You have 3 talent trees, one generic to your archetype that has general character improvements and buffs, and two specific to your class. You can unlearn your current feats with an NPC that stands on the docks, near the entrance to Underhalls in Tortage.

3. Minion Control
- Classes that have pets will have a very small pet control bar on the far left side of the bottom quickbar, under where the default chat window lies.

4. Chat Commands
- /s Shouts, /say for local chat, /group for group/party chat, /ooc for general (out of character) chat in the area you're in, /gu for guild chat.
- To link an item in chat, drag and drop it to the chat window (this can be tricky).

- To do emotes, you do /emote EMOTENAME. For a list of known emotes check out the extensive list over at http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/33074 or type /emote and hit your tab key.

5. Minimap
This is a big one that took me a while to figure out. There's lots of things showing on your minimap.

- X marks the spot for quests. Whether its the NPC or where quest items are, if you're on a quest, there's gonna be an X for where you need to go. Your current quest is highlighted in a Brownish/Orange color. To select your current quest, go to the quest journal ('J' default hotkey).

- Certain quests will mark a circular area on your minimap, this shows you what area of the map you need to be to kill mobs or collect items. It's like the X, but less specific.

- Group members show a Blue arrow when they're out of range of the minimap, and a TINY grey dot when they're close by. Usually you need to zoom in the minimap quite a bit to make use of it. Also, if your group members are too far away, it doesn't seem to show anything at all for them.

- Merchants have their own unique icon, it looks like a stack of coins.

6. PVP
-The first PVP flagged zone on PVP servers is at White Sands Isle, or the Underhalls. On pure PVP servers, anyone not in your party is attackable and can attack you. You cannot be attacked inside Tortage or the three major faction cities. I believe PVP areas on pve servers don't start until much higher levels. All the quest hub towns are PVP active, but there are lvl 80 guards that attack you if you kill people near them.

7. Destiny Quests (single player).
-When you go to the inn (directly to the right of the entrance to Tortage), you have the option of going to the Night quests, which are single player quests in and around the city. These quests serve as a sort of guide for your archetype requiring you to use specific skills. You need to complete these before you can get out of Tortage and onto higher level content (you cannot complete it until lvl 19). There are others at lvl 30 and 50 (maybe more) and they give great blue quality quest items.

8. Quest Difficulty:
Gray = No Challenge
Green = A simple quest with little challenge
Blue = Doable
Yellow = A quest tailored for your current level
Orange = Difficult challenge
Red = Too difficult for you

9. Gear.
-Gear is rated like in other games:
Grey=Low quality
Green = uncommon
Blue=Unique
Purple/Pink=Epic
Orange=Legendary.

You can tell an item's quality by the color of the text.

Some quest are tagged as group quests. You can tell these by the icon that looks like three little men. You actually need a group for most of these.

Please post with more ideas/suggestions to keep this as helpful as possible

Smile Quest Color Guide

I am wondering if anyone could help me with quest colors what does green,red, yellow mean ? i have not seen any other colors yet, i noticed no quests are listed by level like most mmos. I have tried searching the net and the forums, if there is a guide. I can't seem to find it.

thanks in advance

Grey is REAL easy, green is easy, yellow is your level and red is above your level.
