This is something I've noticed as well. A lot of people tend to give the LFG system a very bad rap for just not having the players available to do Group Quests/Raids.
I myself have not done many Raids in the past (due to my inexperience in MMOs, and my poor server choices), but when I started doing Sanctum run on my new Wiccana toons, it was quite the fun experience. I don't currently think I should be leading any groups, (as mentioned as a problem above) but that will be rectified as I go on more XDD.
The issues I want to see fixed with the LFG system is not having to spam global, but having the proper place to get together and find a group of like minded players who want to do the same thing. The LFG tab, from what I've seen, is little more than useless, other than the occasional Yag Loop or Vistrix run.
I'd like to see the LFG tab used more, and perhaps given some depth, and usefulness. But I still stand by my earlier statement that the system should not be automated. I agree with earlier posts that the LFG system is not the fault for people quitting (at least not players we want to have around), and that the players are usually blaming the LFG system for their issues.
An automated LFG system would be horrible, but a slightly more used LFG tab would be nice, perhaps saving messages for people that log in, so they can examine what groups are forming and which ones have already been filled.
Old with the new, add LFG system to make Conan new player retention issues equalize

The game had low populations and you want to even dare say there is a type of player you want & dont want to have around????? ? ? ?
This is the huge disconnect from reality that some old fashioned RPG players still cling to and is a total failure for a business to think like this. Funcom wants all players and A LOT want the LFG system & need it to increase game enjoyment to I love it levels.
If you want you can keep being old school and spamm global all you want while the other players enjoy the LFG system so be it, you'll still be able to if you love it so.
Funcom dont become an outdated dinosaur and fall by the wayside for not noticing this huge paradigm shift in MMO play styles for the 21 century this is the age of iPhones and instant movie downloads not "spamm" and "old archaic ideals" of what should be. Businesses like that FAIL!
awl the red writing in your pic. change to green or blue its much easier to read. I for one would never give a power point presentation with red writing, that's just something I learned at uni, if its not easy on the eyes people wont read it. Apart from that its well thought out. now email it to Funcom every day until we see results
I support this, but frankly I wanted something even more automated.
I actually like WoW's Dungeon Finder tool ... took all the hassle away from me. Sure there were wait times. I'd rather deal with wait times that the hassle of putting group together manually. Manually creating groups is actually a turn off for me.
While WoW did become elitist thanks to Gear Score, at the same time it was a very useful pve mark of gear progression. Sure, it was overused, perhaps so much so as to not look at player skill, but I look at Gear Score as just one determinant out of many of potential success or failure, not the sole one.
some pro LFG & anti LFG player's quotes that actually support this system by design

These kinds of players, especially returning or new players don't have time or the gear or the AAs to get into whatever guild groups there still are in the game, and right now with the low population, there's no real alternate. If there isn't a way for these players to find groups and attempt the less challenging instances, they're just going to quit the game entirely and then they'll never be able to join your groups. It's in everyone's best interest to try to retain as many players as possible.
The end goal would be to increase the population, but a LFG tool is the best way to do that. (apart from a new expansion with an actual marketing campaign, but Funcom hasn't done that since the game launched) If there were a healthy population, then group finding wouldn't be a problem, but the population isn't healthy and hasn't been for a long time, so people need some extra tools to make it easier to group with whoever's left.

You'd think that with 40 people we could get a group of 6 constantly going, but even among us there are barriers:
#1 Levels. Vets and most p2p are all 80s. What about the f2p who are still at lvl 26? Or another at 41? No one likes going through 80 levels alone.
#2 Going through the 'setting up a group' together manually. Other MMOs do this automatically.
#3 Even friends are on at different times, different days, etc.
We need single server and that LFG tool. I'd be logged in constantly if I knew I'd be doing something other than repeating dailies alone and waiting 30 mins for a mini.
Tho Ev1LS's stated he dosnt like LFG systems in general the LFG system
shown in this post prevents the following issues with its
leader selectable grouping features, for when leaders need specific
group make ups. Yet this LFG system still allows new players to
group for pugs when those LEADER features are not needed or
as important very easily & yet still fun. The best of both worlds.
Funcom This type of full featured LFG is what is needed to end
Conans new player population problems as "elite players & new players"
can both enjoy it "hassle free".

Gathering like minded players with WELL EXPRESSED thought out opinions into single post so they are not all lost in the chaos.

Reason: adding like minded player quotes that support this LFG system features
The simple fact is that games that have a dedicated LFG channel simply don't work. People don't use it. You have to have some kind of automated tool in this day and age if you want to be competitive in the MMO market.
