Aside from a delay in being able to claim pre-order items for some people, which is fixed now, and two quests, that I know of, that got borked and are uncompleteable on some dimensions it's been smooth as silk. Best I've ever seen. But this was early access. Something still might give when the floodgates are opened at launch.
Interested in some AoC expansion news myself.

I really want to see their single server tech applied to AoC.
Grouping with anyone from any server for 6 mans/raids/minis? Questing with ANY friend who plays the game? Yes please!
I won't play TSW because there's no pvp flagging system in place and AoC's melee combat is vastly superior.

I for one, and im holding my breath while saying this, but BRAVO! Maybe now that TSW is going smoothly and you got some much needed revune the AoC team can get back to work.
oh and while you have this free time, PLEASE NORAMLIZE the mini set, we don't exactly have a booming population, it's a simple numerical change. cost should match the bori sets cost minus bori tokens.

I see comments like this a lot. I don't want to start an argument or derail the thread, but knowing a bit about how the corporate world works I think it's a safe bet that it was the (at the time) publisher, Eidos, that made the decision to push out a game that wasn't ready. I just can't see any self-respecting group of developers doing that.
On topic. I think your right that things were learned and Funcom probably made it very clear when they went into their relationship with EA that they didn't want another fiasco like we had in 08. The extensive beta period has paid off it seems.

Couldnt they have told eidos this to? i mean you make it sound as if this was funcoms first mmo. What about AO what did they learn from it?

I'm sure it was all up to the contract lawyers and the wording of the talent/publisher contract. Who knows what sort of power Eidos had with regard to the launch of AoC?

This is really starting to frustrate me. They are not going to put more time into AOC now that TSW is launched.
Games are not launch and forget, and go work on something else, they require constant work and maintenance. TSW is going to require constant work when the floodgates open.
Patches, fixes, and changes. The Devs are going to want to show TSW's players that they are going to fix things quick and be on top of updates and patches.

If they could see AoC fix now would be nice. But TSW is stillbirth. The game is boring as hell. Like a well cooked meal but with no spice in it.
I'll give it a try when it becomes f2p. And it will be for sure in no more than 1 year. It is also kind of depressing to see Funcom launch a game with tab targeting for meele, after the amzing AoC combat system. No sprint either during combat makes it so boring, I could not play more than 1h straight during beta.
Maybe they will finaly realize they need to fix AoC instead of invensting on it. Might take 1 year to ssee that, but I am pretty sure it will happen

The headstart has been really really smooth. Only a few very minor issues, and with the update today that addressed a lot of them, I think the official launch tomorrow will be even better.
I am loving TSW but not leaving AoC ever. AoC is simply too good as well, in my opinion.
And now that TSW is out, I believe AoC wil be HUGELY improved when they implement the single server tech.
Funcom's single server tech works amazingly well, and it will consolidate population across all servers, but I'm pretty sure it will also bring back a lot of players.
Only time will tell, but I'm really optimistic about the future of both games.

Keep in mind that both games have their own independent development teams.
If anything, I really hope TSW does really well, because I'm playing the game and loving it and I think it's a really fresh and unique gaming experience, but also because that would mean better things for AoC in the future hopefully, starting with single server tech implementation.
