Hello all! Couple of questions for you.

1. How does the tavern room rental work? How much is the rental fee and how long does it allow me to have the room?

2. I played Anarchy Online for a while and I liked the apartments that characters had but I left before any furniture or other decorations came into play. Will Funcom be doing the same here or will we be able to take control of dungeons like I heard happened in Anarchy Online?

1. Tavern room rental? the only one I know of is for the guild...not sure of the point of it though..

2. I don't see it coming in the near future. however it has been mentioned by Funcom while back...

While I have no idea on how tavern-room rentals work (I tried it once just to see how it was, but that was 3+ years ago), I DO know that any system of player housing for AoC should be so far down on the prioritylist that it's not even a footnote. And that especially if it's anything similar to what we had in AO. AoC has so many things that need work before any sort of half-assed player-housing projects is started, and that's something I hope Funcom realizes.

I'm curious as to what you mean when you say take control of dungeons in AO. Links/explanations?

When I refer to taking over dungeons I am working on memory from a few years back. Don't quote me on this. But I had read or heard that the question had popped up with the AO crowd that a form of player housing could be the actual dungeons/quest locations after the player had finished the quest and cleared it of enemies. Only then could the player make it his/her residence so to speak.

I think that I heard that it WAS implemented but I never saw it with my own eyes. So please don't take this as a quote. I was just curious if it would happen in AOC.

Don't count on it. They have not really discussed player housing of any sort outside of to say, maybe later.

1: Tavern room's last as long as the person who purchased it stays in the room. I think they cost 15 silver, but I may be wrong. Once purchased anyone in your group can enter the room. But again, once you leave you have to repurchase it. So they really do not work as any kind of housing, more like a private RP spot.

2: There has been no mention of this and I really doubt that any kind of player housing will come any time soon. Definitely not this year and I doubt in 2013 either.

Thanks for the info people. I went ahead and bit the bullet to find out and on deathwish at the serpents head inn I paid 5 silver for the room. I was allowed to have it an unlimited amount of time but if I left the room once to reenter I would have to pay again. An expensive test. 5 silver is hard to come by on Deathwish at level 35. that's the sale of 2 or 3 rare blue items on the auction.

Really for 5 silver I should have gotten the room for a whole month or more with the ability to come and go as I please. It probably should have come equipped with dancing women and men slaves. But it is what it is.

What are you going to do in your own instanced room? AoC is not a "housing" kind of game.

Housing for characters may not be an AOC style subject but people do like to own areas that they can decorate and role play in. That's all. I'm not asking for more. As a new player I am just exploring what this game has to offer.
