Good to know about the weapon dmg being the main factor in bleed dmg. revised my pvp spec to include sustained and volcanic rage and I am hitting like a mack truck when I connect on all steps of a blood bath.

Weapon DMG affects base DPS yea? so base DPS should also effect bleeds. So armor should help bleeds too. Or is just the weapon DPS and magic something that gives the increased bleeds ?

It is weapon damage. Combat Rating and +magic does not affect bleeds. Easiest way to test is to weapon swap while a bleed is ticking. Try it with a cheap crafted 2h, with no gems, one with combat rating gems, and one with magic damage gems. They should all provide the same benefit as long as their base damage is the same.

Weapon dmg affects base DPS, true. However, base DPS does not affect bleed damage.

Weapon dmg only effects bleed damage. And anything that increases weapon dmg directly.

For example, sustained rage, lightning steel, furious inspiration, and anything from carnage with direct +bleed damage will increase bleed damage.

Frenzy stance also increases bleed damage. I have heard that its because frenzy has a magic damage multiplier, but haven't tested it.

I suspect it is more from the +30% total to weapon dps (15% base+15% from improved frenzy stance)

I am curious, has anyone tested 1he vs 1hb with similar DPS rating? Perhaps it is minimum damage rating, which would give the edge to 1hb significantly. Pun intended (GROAN)

to clarify, weapons have a DPS rating(104.7 DPS for example) but also have a range (89-162 damage) next to that. Blunts have a significantly higher lower number, but a lower maximal number.

No difference between 1hb and 1he bleed damage that I was able to tell.

After a nudge from the EU forums(http://forums-eu.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=175245), I did some further testing.

I have found that Straight combat rating does effect bleed damage. Combat rating(elemental) does not. Weapon damage does seem to play the most major role, but that might be because it is the primary source of physical DPS.

I tested this by removing all gear, applying dot, removing all buffs that might have procced(lightning steel, FI, hemorrhage, etc) and then putting on a piece of gear. It seemed to increase bleed damage by about 40% of DPS increase. For example, my unbuffed bleed damage, with no gear is 127/tic @ 169.3 DPS. After putting on T2 helm, had increase to 131/tic @ 180.6 DPS. Note that in both cases 264 combat rating was elemental from offhand weapon. I re-confirmed that combat rating from energetic band did not effect bleed damage as well.

I repeated the naked/add piece of gear with tiger boots with a 4 damage/tic increase in damage. My DPS from combat rating increased by 10, supporting an approximate 40% conversion of combat rating to damage/tic.

I welcome anyone else's further exploration in this, especially confirming that PVP combat rating effects bleed damage(against other players) or is it just regular combat rating? What about combat rating 1hb/1he?
