Would you consider xRubberduckyx, Direwolfe, Praancer, or Santis fairly easy one on one?
The game developer himself stated that the classes are meant to work like a rock, paper, scissors concept. Some classes seem to fall outside that concept especially when they aquire high end gear. The group balance is an afterthought for effects that are too strong in group scenarios. I think this idea can work fine but can never get enough attention and the balancing needs to evenly progress between all classes with gear and aas.

To suggest balancing group pvp before balancing one on one pvp is like trying to build hoover dam without redirecting the water first. The variables in a one vs one situation between 12 classes are daunting enough but to dilute the data with mixed group variables before even establishing a core would be like molding water.
A high end bearshaman can destroy any class one on one as well as impact the group tremendously. They don't score top kills very often which is the only reason players don't call them op as often as other classes. This statement more than highlights the fact that the scoring system for minigames has deformed the way the classes are to be played. Reward the bearshaman for his healing potential, dps, tankability, debuffs, buffs, ccs, and cc breaks and then you can really begin to guage how much impact that class brings to the table.
Would you rather have the pvp 10 demo with top kills on your team or the pvp 10 bear shaman. I know the choice for me would be simple.
Running a parser at the end of the match and converting points into a score shouldnt be such a difficult task and kdr can still be appointed to those that worship it. It is impossible to ever achieve a true rock/paper/scissor balance but a better scoring system would definately help to narrow it down.
