How the heck do i get this to work? Everytime i log off and try to login again i get this message and i have to wait more than 30 mins to log in again, also it doesnt matter if i log off through the quit button, closing the window or alt + f4 out...
I get this a lot. it takes 15min to an hour to get in the game again. FC did not answer my email to this issue. This was introduced with 1.07 patch. FC's only response is stone cold silence. I contacted a GM who tried to pretend it doesn't happen. It happens any time after the first log in. I can be dx10 or dx9 client. I can be on normal log out to change characters or client crash. Rebooting the game, or the pc does not help. As I followed the log in trough, it looks like a server side issue. I have 2 isps, changing isps does not fix the problem. FC needs to end their cranial-rectal inversion and fix this and other issues in the game.I have lost around 10 hours of my time to this problem alone.
I sent a petition in on this. It took hours to get a reply.
[Ishioma|Game Master]: I understand. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience. The Authentication Server is seeing a lot of action the past 2 weeks. It is something that we are looking into. Unfortunately, there isn't anything that a GM can do to fix, or speed up the process.

So I got the basic FC brush off with no real answers. I will remember FC when I spend my entertainment dollars in the future.
My lag has dropped off dramatically. Thank you Funcom for that.
However, I still get failed to authenticate with character server. It takes my 15 min to an hour to get back in. That is not very compatible with group play. Or, any other play. Please fix. If I need stuff from my alchemist, it may take as long as 2 hours to get. log main off wait an hour to get in on alt, mail items, wait an hour to get in on main again. uh..great how wonderful in the computer age. I wonder if there is a way to set my CC to work that way?
I always get this message during the weekends or week nights, and thats all the time i have to play... i want to know if everyone affected by this is going to get some form of refund? (as in, a few more days in the subscription) Because obviously this is not a problem on my side, and everytime i want to play i cant, because of this issue...
i found teh best way to fix the failed to authenticate or failed to connect to character server or failed to do anything is:
start aoc..get all the way to the loginscreen...go afk for anywhere to 3-8 minutes...after that come back and you should be able to log in normally
works for me, seems the client or whatever is going on needs time to download something or do something with the internet connection hell if i know...but i found this works without having to do any tweaking lol
Yeah I am getting this too now as I posted in my own thread (I started it before seeing this). When I crash or disconnect I cannot get back in for 30 minutes. It's starting to really annoy me.
I had hoped the last phantom patch had fixed this. No such luck.
I have played several mmos over the past years. server authentication is not a new problem. Taking a month to fix it is. Blizzard, Turbine, and even soe fixed their problems in 4-24 hours. Come one FC, get the lag out.
