Sadly this is true.
I dont mind the system for purples, I just wish there were more "miscellaneous" items that you could gain instead friggin daggermalts.
Raiding would feel much more rewarding of you at least came out of it with a special 4 hr food that has a +25 combat rating or fire resistance or a pirate hat, something.
It's the all or nothing that bites me inthe nuts

what will you do once you are fully geared out? you will grow bored and probably unsub. when there is no motivation to raid for loot there will be no point for you to raid and youll see that bit of content grow boring rather quickly. just take it as it comes and be happy when you do get a new purple

Maybe the OP was saying FunCom could actually work on this idea of Loot. Rot is uncalled four, 24 people with a chance of 6-8 pieces should not put forth an effort and see 50 % rot.
The server side could poll, the raid client side and determine from there what might drop. With all the other issues the game has, I stay positive, even took the discount and signed up for another Year.
I support this as a future enhancement, versus making the game so easy, fixing the loot would be better. Toss all the PvP gear out and have the gear you get realize what PvP level you are and buff the Gear from there. How many would object to waking up and there Tier 1 or two or Three for that matter, Gear has PvP buffs on top of the buffs that exist. I'm a flippin Noob and I can come up with better ways to fix the gear issue, it's just a matter of FUNCOM getting er done.

This is why gear based games are bad. If you need to use an artificial restriction on drop rates to disguise a lack of end-game content - that is bad. Not just bad - it's terrible.
OP, my suggestion would be the following:
Instead of recognising time or random dice rolls, increase the difficulty of encounters that award gear. These should change periodically as well and randomly. The patterns and implementation and layout should be random enough that there can be no set strategy for completing the task. The task should be very, very difficult to achieve. This would need to be achieved through a combination of random (Perhaps even learning as per the mid 90s' Reaper Bot or other systems) mobs with a properly written pseudo-ai system in-place, a random dungeon layout and either changing victory conditions as the raid progresses, or different combinations of victory conditions selected randomly from a set when the raid starts.
If the victory is achieved, award each player with a token where said token can be exchanged for a piece of gear. Balance it as such that victory is possible on roughly the same time-frames as it is now.
However, that makes the achievement of gear based off a player's skill, rather than basing it off a random roll or a mindless grind.

I noticed the BRC raids have a theme towards loot. All too often the pattern is that a class is favored after the first Boss drop. And same class is most likely to have drops by the other Bosses in same wing. Thus Players always say its a BS night or whatever class is lucky in that wing for loot. Kinda Lame! I rather have each drop from bosses be random than favor any class. This causes mucho rot!!!

I truly see no point to raid anymore because the current system is sh$t IMO. I've seen pants drop three times and every fu#ken time I've lost the roll. At this point I really don't want to raid any longer because it just seems pointless.

I have to agree. Raiding is fun and all but after you've done the Raid Round Robin weeek after week, month after month gets old. It's fun to do things with your guild and all but it's bull ****. Raids either need to start dropping more gear and a wider variety...the caster drops are WAY TOP HEAVY IMO... or FC needs to reintroduce epic world drops.
The Token idea is pretty good. A character can achieve Hero points for completing epic tasks and killing epic bosses which could be redeemed by going before King Conan and either strait up trading those in for gear or a chance to draw equipment from his armory as a gift for your service to his kingdom. SOMETHING other than WTF is going on now.
BRING ON THE EPIC WORLD DROPS!!!!.... that's all...

I disagree, his point is quite valid. If I sunk THAT much time into something, I'd expect to get a return greater than the nothing at the end. Once turned in, you don't get quest credit any longer. If you have outleveled the mobs, you get no xp from that either. So, since they are spending so much time trying for a piece of loot, why make it so hard for them to get it? Why allow classes that can't use to roll for loot? Why not reward people for staying SUBBED ffs and let them get what they've invested time AND money into looking for. Statements that it's rare are pretty weak as he stated he's seen it drop 3x, and still can't win the stupid loot roll. EVERYONE should get something at the end of a raid, particularly those who no longer receive the xp rewards normally associated with it. Ridiculously small amounts of coin are no substitute at all really. (BIND ON PICKUP is one reason this is happening, get rid of that ffs, it's dumb, put some blood in the auction)
If a player can manage to raid through a dungeon enough times to have outfitted himself completely assuming what he needed dropped AND he won a loot roll, AND he could do it enough to see a few complete sets churn by with the offtime drops he already has, then why in Set's name shouldn't he get it?!!!
As long as FC doesn't let raid gear overbear (or totally dominate) other gear or crafted gear, particularly in PVP, what's the big deal?

It's as#holes like you that make this game less attractive. The I've got a full set mentality, so f#uk you.
